NEWS
ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT/MORE FIXTURES (23/01/12) Saturday saw another match fall victim to the forst, with the home game against Forres Thistle postponed. Due to the distance Forres had to travel, an 8.00am pitch inspection was organised and the official deemed the pitch too hard in places. There was a chance it may have thawed out by kick off time but for obvious reasons an early decision had to be made to save the visitors a wasted journey. We now have fixtures to the end of February and they are on the link on the left.
FIXTURES (16/01/12) Saturday's game at Stonehaven fell victim to the frost and will now be re-arranged later in the season. Another fixture has been added to the fixtures page, with a trip to The Meadows to face Ellon Utd on the 4th February.
A NIGHTMARE!! (08/01/12) Yesterday's big match turned into a bit of a damp squib, as we tamely went down at home to runaway leaders Hermes. The visitors are now odds on favourites to collect their first title, and details of their win are on the reports page.
Kick off at the big match......sorry the damp squib!!!!
ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT (19/12/11) Not surprisingly, Saturday's game at Sunnybank was called off in the morning following the frost. We now have a fortnight off for the festive break and get back to action with a new year cracker at home to Hermes on the 7th.
FIXTURES (13/12/11) Fixtures until the end of January have now been issued and are listed on the fixtures page.
DAMN WEATHER!! (12/12/11) The winter weather kicked in for the first time this season, with Saturday's game aginst Lewis Utd being postponed. There were parts of the pitch that were playable, but others (particularly the goalmouths) were just solid meaning the game had no chance. Hopefully things will improve to allow this weeks game at Heathryfold against Sunnybank to go ahead, with a fortnights festive break to follow after that.
RECENT MAN OF THE MATCH AWARDS (09/12/11)
Top left- Webby collecting the award at the Maud game courtesy of sponsors Nor-dan Top right- Tattie Pick up the home player gong at the Banks O'Dee game from Dee's David Cadenhead, who was a guest of match sponsors Fowler McKenzie, with Ann McKenzie on the left. Above- Dee keeper Gavin Robertson won the away player gong, apparently part of the blur in his left hand is the trophy. In a tight game he made a couple of excellent stops to keep the scores blank.
Our thanks go to Nor-dan and Fowler McKenzie for sponsoring the games, especially Phil who spent the afternoon bossing everyone around in 'his kitchen' and did a great job selling the pies.
POINTS SHARED WITH DEE (04/12/11) We lost ground on leaders Hermes yesterday after a 0-0 stalemate with Banks O'Dee yesterday. It wasn't the best of games and both teams could still be playing now and it would probably still be goal-less.
ANOTHER THREE POINTS (27/11/11) We put another three points on the board yesterday with a 4-2 win against Maud. After losing both games against them in our opening season in the top flight, we have now won the last 8 league meetings against the Pleasure Park outfit. After being comfortable at 3-0 we made it a bit tougher than we should have by allowing them to get back to 3-2 before grabbing a decisive fourth.
FIXTURES (21/11/11) Fixtures have now been issued up to and including the 17th December, and our games are listed on the fixtures page.
WELL DONE CULTER (21/11/11) The juniors in the north has been hitting the headlines following Culter's tremendous draw against Partick Thistle at Crombie Park on Saturday in the Scottish Cup. The Deesiders came from behind to grab a 1-1 draw and earn a replay at Firhill this Saturday and we wish them well.
AT LAST......A WIN AT DENMORE (19/11/11) We collected a valuable 3 points at a venue we always struggle. After falling behind and playing grimly, we picked things up with Neisher and Ads grabbing the gaols to turn things round.
BARNEY CAN GO (13/11/11) Goalkeeper Shaun Barney has been made available for transfer, and any interested club should contact manager Andy Milne on 07725 516156 By mutual consent Tommy Robertson will also be released.
WINNING AGAIN (13/11/11) After the late collapse at Bunkry last week, we got back on the winning trail yesterday with a comfortable 2-0 win against Ellon. The squad was down to the bare bones as we started with just one sub but the lads who came in did well to collect the three points.
AUTON GETS WED (07/05/11)
Big Auton tied the knot on Saturday, marrying Emma at the Old Mill Inn. A great day was had (apart from the call to Mr Chairman to find out our score!!) and we wish the couple well for the future.
COLLAPSE!!! (07/11/11) A spectacluar collapse at Milton Park saw us drop 3 points against Banchory on Saturday. A goal up and seemingly coasting at half time we paid the price for not finishing off the tie, and after a couple of changes with players picking up knocks we lost 3 goals in the final 17 minutes to leave with nothing as Saints stormed back. I was attending Auton's wedding so Mr Chairman's reposrt is on the usual page.
BACK UP TO SECOND (30/10/11) With a number of teams on cup duty we too advantage to move up to second spot with a comfortable 4-0 win at Longside yesterday. It could have been more but we'll settle for a 4 goal margin away from home in a game where we looked solid at the back and dangerous going forward......including Webby! More details on the report page.
AM BEGINNING TO DISLIKE CUPS!!! (23/10/11) Despite a decent league start, our cup form just isn't the best to say the least. In a poor game against Banks O'Dee we went down thanks to a deflected goal and the rebound from a penalty. Our fate was probably sealed in five second half minutes when we were only given a free kick despite a handball being well inside the box, the Steve B putting in his entry for miss of the season soon after. Onwards and upwards though with another two league games ahead at Longside and Bunkry.
WINNING AGAIN (18/11/10) After our little hiccup we got back to winning on Saturday up at Forres. With the scribe being down in Cockneyland there is no report as yet, but if enough is found out about the game a report of sorts will be posted. What I do know is that the first half was apparently pretty dour, with Aidan Tevez Greg opening the scoring almost instantly after the re-start. Kris Downing added a second with Mark B hitting the bar near the end. Overall a reasonably comfortable three points in the end although we made hard work of it in the opening 45.
A SPOT OF BOTHER (09/10/11) We dropped two points at home yesterday against a Sunnybank side that showed they have made big improvements since we beat them in the Grill Cup in August. Despite not playing well we ought to have pinched the points in the final minute but unfortunately Steve B missed from the penalty spot after he had been fouled.
SUPPORTERS FROM SATURDAY (03/10/11)
One of the excellent NERRL supporters enjoying We recruited Al Jolson as a supporter on the train into town our hospitality. after the game. He claimed is real name was Free Willy, something to do with having 7 wives back in his homeland apparently.
DEFEAT IN THE SCOTTISH (02/10/11) Yesterday saw us exit the Emirates Scottish cup after a 5-2 loss to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. It was an entertaining game and for a while in the second half it really was game on and at 3-2 down we should have had a penalty which could have made it very interesting. The Rabs are a strong outfit though and just had a little bit too much for us on the day, but we certainly made a game of it. We wish them well for the rest of the season and trust they enjoyed their trip to Ian Mair park.
BACK TO WINNING WAYS AGAIN (25/09/11) After the setback last week at Cooter, we got back to winning ways at our recent bogey ground. Our 3-1 at Stoneywood means just one defeat from the opening six fixtures, five of which have been away from home including visits to Cooter and Bunks O' Dee (ok, that one was a neutral venue due to Spain Park's re-development not being complete yet). It sets things up nicely for this weeks rather tough assignment against Rob Roy in the Emirates Scottish Cup.
OH DEAR!! (18/09/11) Defending champions culter must have thought christmas had come early yesterday as we lost our unbeaten league record. We missed a couple of sitters and the less said about two ridiculous goals we gifted Culter the better. The only shining light on a crap day was scooping a couple of quid on the Culter sweeper later in the day!
YESTERDAY (11/09/11) I wasn't there to witness it but we kept our unbeaten start in the league going as three second half counters saw us run out 4-1 winners away to Lewis Utd. Stevie B netted a treble with the Neishster grabbing the other. The task ahead of us in the Scottish was highlighted yesterday as Rob Roy kept up their excellent start in the West Super League with a 3-2 success away to Pollok.
INTO ROUND 2 (04/09/11) We are safely through to round 2 of the inter regional cup after yesterday's 4-0 win over Buchanhaven Hearts. After an even first half when we took the lead after 42 mins, we ran out comfortable enough winners in the end. Report as usual by clicking the link on the left.
KIRKINTILOCH ROB ROY TO VISIT DYCE IN THE SCOTTISH (30/08/11) Today's draw for the opening round of the Emirates Scottish Cup saw us drawn at home to Rob Roy in what will without question be a really tough game. They currently sit joint top of the West Super League after a perfect start of 3 wins from 3 games, with a goal difference of plus 7. Included in their 9 points are 3 picked up last week when they beat current Scottish holders Auchinleck Talbot away from home........which emphasises the task ahead!! The game will take place at Ian Mair Park on Saturday 1st October and we look forward to welcoming all from Rob Roy then.
TOP OF THE LEAGUE!! (28/08/11) Its obviously early days but for a week at least we are table toppers after yesterday's excellent 3-1 victory 'away' to Banks O'Dee. The game was played at New Advocates Park, and after a slow start a vastly improved second half saw us come from a goal down to take the points. Report as usual on the link on the left.
GRILL CUP GROUP COMPLETED (25/08/11) With the scribe down hacking up Downfield Golf Club, it was left to Mr Chairman to report the details from the final group game re-arranged after last week's postponement. Details of the 4-2 win are on the report page.
SPONSORS MAN OF THE MATCH (22/08/11)
Saturday's match against Stonehaven was kindly sponsored by Gavin Bain & Co, and Gavin and his guests were tasked with selecting our man of the match. They decided on Kris Downing, who is pictured above receiving his award from Gavin. Apologies must go to whoever may have won the visitors man of the match award, but that one was abandoned after Mr Chairman dropped the trophy- which was made of glass!!
BANKS O'DEE GAME (22/08/11) Saturday's away game against Banks O'Dee will be played at East End's New Advocates Park. Dee are waiting on the completion of their new artificial pitch and are currently playing their games at opponents/alternative venues. With Waldorf & Stadler both away this weekend it meant switching the game to Ian Mair Park would have been problematic for us (or for me at least!!).
NORTH REGION WEBSITE (22/08/11) The north region juniors now have a website, and there is a link set up on the sponsors & links page.
HE'S BACK!!!!!! (21/08/11) We can confirm that we yesterday completed the signing of our former striker Kevin Neish from highland League outfit Inverurie Locos. We sold the fluo footed lanky beanpole to Locos a year ago after he netted more that 80 goals in 4 season with us, and are delighted to have him back to add to our attacking options.
POINTS SHARED WITH HIVE (21/08/11) We had to settle for a point yesterday against Stonehaven in the league at Ian Mair Park. We started very slowly and fell behind early on but came back and despite going down to ten men dominated large parts and could have taken all three points. Full details are on the reports page.
A BIT OF A SHAMBLES (16/08/11) Tonight's Grill Cup game at Hillhead against Bridge Of Don Thistle was postponed in bizarre circumstances. We arrived at their ground to find that the pitch had not been lined, and despite the home side's frantic efforts to get hold of one of the University's groundsmen it was all in vain as none could be contacted and as a result the referee postponed the game.
LEAGUE CAMPAIGN OF TO A FLYER (14/08/11) Our league season kicked off yesterday with an excellent 3 points, courtesy of a 3-1 win at Maud. Brad Bryant was on the scoresheet again adding to Tommy Robertson's opener with Webby getting the other. Yes, you have read correctly, Webby scored!!!!
BACK TO WINNING WAYS (09/08/11) After Saturday's disappointment at Lewis Utd, we got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Sunnybank at Ian Mair Park. Both Bartlet brothers netted against their old club, with Brad Bryant grabbing the other goal.
GRILL CUP START (07/08/11) The Grill Cup section has seen a disappointing start. After losing a penalty opener in the first minute against Ellon the lads dominated for large parts but only had a Mark Bartlet equaliser to show for their efforts. This was followed up by a poor defeat at Lewis Utd in a typically dour struggle there. Details on the reports page.
COMINGS AND GOINGS (07/08/11) Apologies for the lack of recent news.....holidays etc but back to normal now. Since the last update we have added to the squad with the signings of Tommy robertson and Bradley Bryant. Steve Scott has departed to take on the mammoth task of keeping Sunnybank going. Their problems have been well publicised and after initially stating they would go into abeyance for a year have now decided against this option with Steve and another ex-Dycer Duncan Strachan in charge of the team.
FRIENDLY UPDATE (07/08/11) On Wednesday the 20th we hosted AC Mill Inn, and ran out 2-1 winners. Steve Bartlet gave us a half time lead, although we got a shock when some slack defending in the second half allowed the Stonehaven side to equalise. A Trialist sub then headed the winner for us, although it really should have been a lot more than a single goal winning margin. We created numerous chances and proceeded to miss them, although credit to the amatuers for defending doggedly and their goalkeeper made a series of fine stops. Then on the Saturday we welcomed Montrose Roselea. Gav Booth headed us in front withing the opening couple of minutes, and thought he had made it two when he headed home again. However after initially signalling for a goal the whistlere chalked that one off. Roselea equalised in the second period but within minutes Steve Bartlet netted to regain the lead and thats how it stayed until the end although we spurned a couple of decent chances to add to the scoreline. The final pre season Saturday (30th) saw us travel to Fife to play a very strong St Andrews Utd side. Having won the East Premier league last season they now compete in that region's Super League- a strong leagu eto say the least! We headed down with a threadbare squad, which included no central defenders. The duo asked to play at the back were 5 foot something midfielders Lyon and Tattie. After a decent opening the home side had a good spell scoring 3 times before the break, albeit one was offside and one involved a (very cute!!) handball in the build up. Steve Bartlet grabbed a brace in the second half, with the home side also scoring twice to end the game 5-2 in what was a very worthwhile workout against a really strong team.
ROSELEA LADIES DAY AT DYCE (25/07/11) On Saturday we hosted Montrose Roselea in a pre-season game, and the visitors held their annual ladies day. We were delighted to host them at Dyce and trust they had a fine afternoon!!
The ladies in the posh seats
This one even found a Fowler MacKenzie boiler suit in her wardrobe to wear for the day
Back into the warmth for a refreshment or two
ANOTHER NEW ARRIVAL (25/07/11) We added to the squad on Friday with the signing of Kris Downing from Highland League side Turriff Utd. Downing can play at full back and wide on the right and will give the management team more options.
COMINGS AND GOINGS (18/07/11) There have obviously been some arrivals and departures over the summer, and there will no doubt be more but thus far we can confirm- Departures- Jake Strachan has moved to Banchory St Ternan, and Alex Thoirs has signed for Highland League side Huntly. Youngsters Dave McLean and Ross Whyte have also departed, with striker Kevin McCrum moving to Bridge Of Don Thistle. Arrivals- Steve Scott has returned to the club to form a 3 man management team with Andy and Neisher. Ex Banchory boss Steve had a brief spell with us last season and after discussions with Andy and Neisher has returned to the fold. On the playing front we are delighted to welcome brothers Mark & Steven Bartlet, who have both been recruited from Sunnybank. Former Dycer Tattie McHattie has returned following a spell working abroad. Former Bridge of Don Polish striker Mariusz Kwiatowski (spelling could be a bit dodgy!!) has also put pen to paper along with defender Neil Stewart, as has full back Sid Kirton from Hilton. Some of the mugshots are now on the players/committee page and the others will appear in due course if this lot haven't broken the camera.
PRE-SEASON UNDERWAY (18/07/11) The pre season matches got underway on Saturday against Tayside junior outfit Kirriemuir Thistle. We led at the break thanks to a Gogs header, and changes were made as usual to give a few lads a run. Kirrie equalised early in the second half and then grabbed a winner 3 mins into stoppage time with a farce of a goal. A long punt up the park shouldn't have posed a threat but Ferrie chased it despite being a few yards offside. Barney came out of his box to clear only for the punt to bounce over his heid and the grateful Ferrie knocked home the winner. The result really isn't too important though as the main exercise is to get the players match fit.
NEW SIGNINGS (27/06/11) We have been busy in the close season looking to add to the squad, and have made some excellent signings. There are a couple of loose ends to tie up with one or two, but once all has been done full details of the new arrivals will appear on here. This wont be until the end of next week at the earliest as the webmeister will be burning up some fairways and supping the Super Bock in Portugal from tomorrow.
FIXTURES (27/06/11) A full list of fixtures and kick off times for the first couple of months of the season has now been added to the fixtures page.
CUP DRAWS (20/06/11) Three cup draws were made at the weekend, and in the Grill League Cup section we will face Ellon Utd, Lewis Utd, Sunnybank and Bridge Of Don Thistle (formerly Hillhead). In the Regional Cup we face a difficult away game at Hermes, and we host Buchanhaven Hearts in the opening round of the Inter Regional Cup.
PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE (20/06/11) The pre-season arrangements are as follows- 23rd June- Training 7pm 25th June- End of season day out 28th June- Training 7pm 30th June- Training 7pm 2nd July- Training 1pm 5th July- Training 7pm 7th July- Training 7pm 9th July- Training 1pm 12th July- Training 7pm 14th July- Training 7pm 16th July- Game v Kirriemuir Thistle (h) 1pm (for 2.30 kick off) 18th July- Training 7pm 20th July- Game v AC Mill Inn (k.o to be advised) 23rd July- Game v Montrose Roselea (h) 1pm (for 2.30 kick off) 26th July- Training 7pm 28th July- Training 7pm 30th July- Gave v ST Andrews Utd (a) Bus time etc to be advised

PRE-SEASON MATCHES (08/06/11)
The following matches have been arranged-
16th July- Kirriemuir Thistle (home) 23rd July- Montrose Roselea (home) 30th July- St Andrews Utd (away)
5th PLACE FINISH (31/05/11) Results since our final match last week have seen us finish a respectable 5th this season in the Super League. However, it really could and probably should have been better than that. It does mean that we have kept up our record of a top 6 finish every year since promotion in 2006 (6th, 6th, 4th, 4th and 5th). Time for a break now but the site will be updated with any transfer news etc over the summer.
TYPICAL END OF SEASON STUFF........NOT!! (24/05/11) Seven goals, about 11 yellows and a red, a goal down after 25 seconds, behind 3 times including 3-2 with two mins left, and we managed a 4-3 victory over Sunnybank at Ian Mair Park in what was anything but a tame end of season affair. All the details are on the reports page.
THOIRS AND JAKE ON THE TRANSFER LIST (17/05/11) Alex Thoirs and Jake Strachan have been placed on the transfer list. Any interested clubs should contact the manager on 07725 516156.
OH DEAR, TALK ABOUT END OF SEASON STUFF! (10/05/11) We slumped to a tame 2-0 loss tonight at Ian Mair Park, with what can only be described as a typical end of season display. It was an awful game and there are some details (brief) on the reports page.
CHANGES ON THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (08/05/11) Today's North Region AGM has resulted in some changes to the management commitee. Long serving Regional Secretary Jack Whitehead recently announced his retirement from the post at the end of the season, although that now seems to be with immediate effect. President Dennis Ewing resigned from his post to stand for the secretary role during the week. At the meeting it was decided that former vice president Ian Finnie would be the new president, with Evening Express junior reporter Richard Easton voted in as the new secretary. George Rose (New Elgin) is the new vice president, with Lossie Utd's A Simpson taking the role of assistant secretary. Existing treasurer Irvine Morris from Ellon Utd will continue in that role.
A WIN AT SPAIN PARK AT LAST! (08/05/11) Yesterday we managed to collect our first win at Spain Park, albeit we did it the hard way. We were reduced to 10 men in the 58th minute when Neil Mur picked up a second booking (and neither was for mouthing off!!), but a fine finish from Adam in the 82nd minute saw us pick up maximum points.
DYCE WIN A TROPHY AFTER ALL!!!! (06/05/11)
Just when we thought we would end the season trophy-less, we managed to get our hands on some silverware and Waldorf & Stadler were only to happy to pose with the cup!
A BIT OF DEJA VU (04/05/11) Last night's game at Banchory was remarkably similar to Saturday. After a tight first half we were dominant in the second, but the loss of a late goal killed us again in a game we looked like winning. Details as usual on the reports page.
NO SILVERWARE THIS SEASON (01/05/11) There will be nothing coming to the trophy cabinet this season after we exited the McLeman Cup at Banchory yesterday. We didn't play particularly well in the first half and found ourselves two down at the interval. However an early goal in the second have gave us the impetus to dominate the rest of the match and we really ought to have at least forced a penalty shoot out but got caught on the break late on as Saints broke away and scored with their first effort on goal of the 2nd half as we pushed players forward. Fair play to Saints though as they took their chances when they came along to advance to the semi final.
AN EXCELLENT THREE POINTS (23/04/11) We picked up an excellent three points under the Lochside floodlights last night with a 3-0 victory against Hermes. It is a hard venue to pick up any sort of result so we have to be chuffed with that scoreline!
MATCH SPONSORS (23/04/11) We would like to thank our match sponsors for the last three home matches. All seem to left suitable intoxicated and all have seen decent results with two wins and a draw. Nor-Dan sponsored the game against Maud, Nu-Style did the Hall Russell game, with Anderson Contruction sponsoring the Stonehaven match. We appreciate their support and hope they had an enjyable time.
RECENT MAUD DINNER (19/04/11)
Serious conversation between Bill & George Alex's conversation send Phil off the edge of his seat
PICTURES FROM THE RECENT MAUD MATCH (18/04/11)
Below see's Thoirs' shot deflect in off the unlucky Ian Arthur for our 3rd goal of the afternoon. The picture is courtesy of Mike Hughes (Limetreee Pictures). There are some other snaps on the photo page.
A BATTLING POINT (17/04/11) Yesterday saw us battle back from a goal down to take a point against league leaders Hall Russell Utd. With a squad down to the bare bones once again it wasnt the worst result ever!
NOT SURE HOW WE LOST THAT ONE ! (11/04/11) We fell to a 3-2 defeat at Polo Park against Stoneywood, after fighting back from being 2-0 down at half time then losing a late one. There was some controversy at the end of the match, all details are on the reports page as usual.
BACK TO WINNING WAYS (10/04/11) We got back to winning ways yesterday against a Maud side that had won 5 of their last 6 league games. We appeared to be coasting at 3-0, but some madness near the end made for a twitchy ass last few minutes.
ANOTHER 3 GOALS AWAY FROM HOME.......BUT NO POINTS! (04/04/11) For the second week in a row we scored three away from home, but some dire defending meant a 4-3 at champions Sunnybank. All the details are on the reports page.
POINTS SHARED AT THE MEADOWS (28/03/11) Saturday saw us head to The Meadows with a dreadfully depleted squad, and the lads did well to get a 3-3 draw. In the end though it was disappointing as we were 3-1 up at one stage, with two of Ellon's goals coming as a result of penalty kicks and the equaliser being a deflected effort in the last minute. With yours truly being absent Mr Chairman took the notebook and his version of events is now on the reports page.
FIXTURES (23/03/11) A full list of fixtures until the end of April is now available on the fixtures page.
A GOOD THREE POINTS, AND GAV GETS A TREBLE (BUT NO MATCH BALL)- (10/03/11) Yesterday saw us defeat Fraserburgh Utd at Ian Mair Park, with Gav Booth grabbing a hat trick in a 4-0 win. Unfotunately due to the cost of match balls he aint getting to keep yesterday's one!!
KIRKY SOLD (20/03/11) Defender James Kirkwood was sold back to his former club East End in midweek after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.
POINTS SHARED (13/03/11) Yesterday saw the points shared against Longside in awful conditions at Ian Mair Park. We were two goals up and should have been out of sight, but the visitors scored twice in 5 minutes soon after and then had the better of the second period as the spectators shivered on the sidelines.
DISAPPOINTING! (07/03/11) We exited the Inter Regional Cup on Saturday in Perthshire. A depleted squad of only 13 players made the trip and a stoppage time winner gave Bankfoot a 3-2 win after we had twice come from behind to level the game. We now have a run of 3 league games over the next 3 Saturdays.
From left to right- the supporters club drowning sorrows after the game, we then had to work out after the match if the glass was half full or half empty, McCrum on his way to humping Neisher at pool back at the Pitt Bar (the only man to defeat McCrum all evening was Mr Secretary!!)
BUS TO BANKFOOT (02/03/11) The bus for Saturday's Inter Regional Cup tie will be leaving Murdo's at 11.00.
FIXTURES (02/03/11) New fixtures have been added to the fixture link, including details of the first midweek action of the season.
AT LAST (27/02/11) At long last we got the Inter Regional game at Banchory played, and it brought a massive improvement compared to our last outing. A good all round performance saw us come from behind to defeat the Saints 2-1, and the reward is a tie away to Perthshire outfit Bankfoot Athletic. The game takes place this Saturday and will be played to a finish.
SAME AGAIN! (20/02/11) Yesterday saw a repeat of last week. Milton Park was waterlooged and again Saints offered to switch the tie to Dyce but once more Ian Mair Park was also unplayable. On checking it at 9am it was actually ok, but by 11.30 after more constant rain puddles were appearing which the ball wouldn't roll through leaving the inveitable postponement to be announced. Once again we will try again next week.
YET ANOTHER POSTPONEMENT (13/02/11) It's now 8 postponements out of the last 10 fixtures following the calling off of yesterday's Inter regional cup tie at Banchory. The Milton Park pitch was suffering from frost and water, and attempts were made to switch the tie to Ian Mair Park- but unfortunately it was also seriously waterlogged with lots of surface water and the fixture has now been re-arranged for this Saturday.
GRIM!! (06/02/11) It was back to action on Saturday.......I wish we hadn't bothered! Details of the dire stuff away to Lewis Utd are on the report page. A big improvement will be needed at Crathes this week against Banchory in the Inter Regional Cup.
LATE CALL OFF (31/01/11) Saturday saw yet another posponement, this time just 45 mins before kick off. Whilst the pitch wasn't ideal, most felt that it was playable however after carrying out an inspection whistler Calum Spence deemed it to be too firm meaning another afternoon with no game. It will now be re-scheduled later in the season.
NEISHER APPOINTED (27/01/11) Manager Andy Milne has announced that Davie Neish has been appointed player/assistant manager. Neisher has previous managerial experience with Parkvale and he will also appear between the sticks whenever required.
WATSON DEPARTS (27/01/11) Defensive midfielder Stevie Watson this week completed a transfer to fellow Super League side Hermes, one of his previous clubs.
NEW SPONSORSHIP (25/01/11)
We are delighted to report that new warm up tops for the players are to be supplied by design engineers Cognity. The agreement was thanks to the efforts of former player Graeme Cook, who now works with Cognity. Obviously were are extremely grateful for the sponsorship, and in due course once the yops have the appropriate logo printed on them I will get a picture or two posted on here.
AT LAST!!!! (23/01/11) After 9 weeks without action we finally got a game played yesterday. The match was switched to Frserburgh's College Park, and whilst it maybe wasn't the greatest game ever it was just fine to see some football again on a Saturday afternoon. Hopefully the weather will behave this week to allow Saturday's game to get the go ahead, with champions Sunnybank visiting Ian Mair Park.
FIXTURE SWITCH (21/01/11) Ian Mair Mark was checked this morning and found to be solid, and with College Park in Fraserburgh being playable tomorrow's match has been switched and the game will now take place at the Broch with a 2pm kick off.
AND YET ANOTHER ONE (17/01/11) Yet another fixture fell by the wayside on Saturday, with the posponement of the match at Ellon. The Meadows pitch was given no chance of being playable on thursday, however a noticable improvement on Friday made things a bit more encouraging. Unfortunately the overnight weather left parts of it still frozen meaning another idle week.
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST (10/01/11) Saturday became the 7th week without a game due to the weather/festive period. The pitch was playable on Friday but overnight snow, rain and frost left it in no state to be played on. We will try again this week with a trip to The Meadows to face Ellon Utd on league duty.
WEATHER/FIXTURES (21/12/10) Obviously the weather has meant no action in recent weeks, and the next two weeks see's the festive break. We are scheduled to play Fraserburgh Utd at home on the 8th January, and if for any reason Ian Mair Park is unplayable they game may be switched to the Broch as we still have to play them there as well.
SAT 18th DECEMBER (10/12/10) The provisional fixture for the 18th has now been confirmed, and weather permitting we will have a derby game against Stoneywood at Polo Park with a 1.15 kick off.
SATURDAY'S GAME IS OFF (not surprising!!) (09/12/10) An early decsion has been made and Saturday's scheduled game at Hermes has been postponed. An updated fixture will be listed for next week as soon as it's available, although it will obviously be weather permitting as well.
POSTPONEMENT/ RE-ARRANGED FIXTURES (02/12/10) As expected the weather is playing havoc with fixtures and all games this Saturday are posponed. We will be lucky to get any matches before christmas the way things are going, but we are now scheduled to play Hermes away on the 11th.......miracle permitting.
FIXTURES (01/12/10) The fixtures page has been updated with games up to the festive break. They are all provisional depending on weather and outstanding Scottish Cup ties, and being realistic are likely to change if we even get any games at all.
STEVE DEPARTS (25/11/10) Steve Scott today announced he is ending his short stay at the club. I had a conversation today with him, during which he was very honest and has his reasons for leaving. Obviously it is disappointing for us, but we respect his wishes and he leaves with the best wishes of us all at Ian Mair Park. Steve now plans to take some time out just take in some games when it suits, and knows he will be welcome along at Dyce any time.
MUGSHOTS (22/11/10) In camera king Ken's absence I have taken some snaps of the new players/management and they are on the player/committee page. If you're brave enough to have a look at the horror show use the link on the left.
This one was taken before the Scottish tie at Stoneyburn, and I am all for supporting charity through Movember but honestly Steve that is a shocker of a caterpillar!
GUESS WHO??
Guess the baldy bonce snoozing on the bus back Is it Mr Chairman or Mr Secretary??? from Stoneyburn. Winner wins nothing at all.
DEE END THEIR DYCE HOODOO (21/11/10) Banks O'Dee collected their first Super League victory against us at Ian Mair Park after an entertaining 90 mins yesterday. In a game that could have gone either way Dee took two chances /gifts that came their way and left with a victory for the first time since our promotion in 2006.
HOME HOODOO ENDED (13/11/10) Our dismal home record against Culter was ended yesterday, and in some style. After a dour first half, during which we grabbed the opener in stoppage time, our second half performance was probably our best in some time with some great goals in a 5-2 win. Full details as always on the reports page.
NEW SIGNING (13/11/10) We have added to the squad with the signing of 19 year old Adam McNamee from Banks O'Dee. The attacker had a dream debut netting a treble in yesterday's 5-2 win against Culter and if he keeps up that form will be a tremendous asset to us.
SCOTTISH EXIT (07/11/10) Our interest in this seasons Emirates Scottish Cup has ended after a 3-2 replay defat in West Lothian against Stoneyburn. Our sympathies go out to their groundsman, who somehow has to try and get their pitch playable again after it took and absolute pounding and basically ended the game as a field of mud. Good luck to him! We would like to thank the Stoneyburn committee for their excellent hospitality and wish them well in the next round.
Hallelujah.......it's back working!!!! (05/11/10) After the death of my laptop (and the software with it) we are now up and running again. Big thanks to Beaner (now in Switzerland!!) and Trish from my work for getting it sorted, as I didn't have a clue how to get it fixed! New (and out of date!) info will be added as and when I can.
MANAGEMENT RECRUIT (13/10/10) Manager Andy Milne has moved to bring in former Banchory St Ternan boss Steve Scott to work alongside him. Steve left the Deeside outfit recently after 5 years, during which he was very successful. After guiding them into the Super League two years ago, he led them to a 5th place finish in their first season and followed that up by pipping us on goal difference to third spot last term. We are delighted Steve has agreed to join us and hopefully Andy and him will form a successful partnership.
HOME DRAW IN THE SCOTTISH (10/10/10) We have been given a home draw in round two of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup. Today's draw saw us paied with East Region outfit Stoneyburn. They are unbeaten in their league so far this season, with 2 wins and four draws from their opening half dozen matches. They made it to the second round with an excellent 2-1 win at Kirrie Thistle. The match at Ian Mair Park will take place on the 30th October. MATCH SPONSORHIP FOR THIS BIG GAME IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE CALL 07787 127574 FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
DIRE! (10/10/10) Like last season, we dropped 3 points at Denmore against Hall Russell. If you want to be depressed have a look at the report page.
ANOTHER 3 POINTS (02/10/10) After ending our poor home record against Bunkry last week we ended another league hoodoo today by winning on league duty at Longside for the first time. A Gogs header early in the second half was enough to earn the points, which were well earned after playing the last half hour after Connor Scully was quite unlucky to receive two yellows.
NEW ARRIVAL (02/10/10) Goalkeeper Shaun Barney has arrived from first division East End. The signing was completed on Thursday night and Barney will provide competition for the old bloke for the no.1 shirt.
BACK TO WINNING WAYS (26/09/10) We got back to winning ways with an excellent 3 points against Banchory St Ternan yesterday on league business. Full details are on the reports page. Below see's Scully on the attack, and more pictures are in the photo gallery.
YATES CAN GO (26/09/10) Striker Darren Yates has been made available for transfer and anyone interested in the player should contact the club.
SNAPS FROM THE BUCHANHAVEN GAME (20/09/10)
'oi, linesman, shove that flag up yer a*se!!!' A familiar shout on a Saturday afternoon............
Gav proves you can jump without using elbows for leverage, shame he looks like Zebedee from the magic roundabout!
A SPOT OF BOTHER (19/09/10) Penalties cost us dear yesterday in the opening round of the Regional Cup. Despite being in complete control of the game at Buchanhaven we couldn't find a way through and fell behind to a daft spot kick with quarter of an hour left. We managed to level the scores and force a shoot out but as always it's a bit of a lottery and Hearts won through 4-3.
AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER (12/09/10) Without doubt Sautrday was our darkest afternoon in many a year. From kick off EVERYTHING went wrong. Details (brief!!) are on the reports page- 7 goals, 2 penalties, a red card etc etc. Manager Andy is now in his 10th season and this was our heaviest defeat in that time, but we must put the day behind us and get the heads up for the Buchanhaven game next week- we dont become a bad team overnight!
THOIRS STAYING PUT (10/09/10) Alex Thoirs has been taken off the transfer list.
EIGHT GOALS, THREE RED CARDS, A HELLUVA COMEBACK........AN EVENTFUL AFTERNOON! (04/09/10) We made it through to round 2 of the Inter Regional Cup after an incredible afternoon's action at the Aberdeen Sports Village. The stats will show that Mr Veitch issued another 3 red cards, but if the truth be told the recipients cant really complain too much. The goal action saw us come from 3-0 down to net 5 times in the second half. As usual the details are on the report page.
NEISHER DEPARTS/ OTHER PLAYERS AVAILABLE (01/09/10) The fluo footed Kev Neish has signed for Highland League outfit Inverurie Locos. The Garioch club requested permission to speak to him and the player indicated he would be keen to test himself at a higher level and therefore permission was granted. After discussions with the Locos management team he decided he would like to make the move, and after a week of negotiations a deal was yesterday agreed and last night he put pen to paper on a 3 year deal. Neisher was our top scorer in each of the last 3 seasons, banging in somewhere in the region of 80 goals and obviously we wish him well at Locos. After watching his new team in action last Friday night he quoted the following on the Locos website after signing on the dotted line-
"It was really good to see the team in action against Deveronvale on Friday night as negotiations were ongoing. The result was certainly pleasing after they had been behind and it was a good fight back. There were lots of chances created and I'd have liked to have been there to stick away a couple.
In other player news, Ross Duncan has also departed, having been released by the club. In addition, 3 players have been made available for transfer- Craig Cunningham (defender, formerly of Formartine)
Kevin McCrum (striker, formerly of Banks O'Dee) Anyone interested in any of the above players should contact the secretary on 07787 127574, or the team manager on 07725516156. Alternatively email via the contact link on the left.
THE 2011 DYCE FC DINNER Our annual dinner in 2011 will once again be held at the Menzies Hotel in Dyce, and it will be on Saturday the 14th May. We have some top class entertainment booked- Joe Cammay and Sandy Strang. I have heard Joe speak and he was absolutely superb, and Sandy has been very highly recommended by some reliable informers who have booked him previously. As Mr Chairman has stated on the forum you can find out more about them by googling them....or even better to see them first hand just book a table! Demand for tickets is usualluy high, so to enquire use the contact link on the left or call 07787 127574.
BYE IN THE EMIRATES SCOTTISH CUP (31/08/10) The draw for the opening round of the Scottish was made at lunchtime today, and like a number of clubs we have received a bye into round two. There are only a certain number of first round ties (around 30), which allows for a sufficient number in round 2 for the numbers to half in each round all the way through to the final.
BACK TO WINNING WAYS (21/08/10) After two successive defeats we got back to winning ways with a comfortable 4-1 win against Hermes. Full details are on the reports page.
Saturday's match against Hermes was kindly sponsored by Nor-Dan UK, who are also our main club sponsor. They were tasked with selecting the man of the match, and Murph is pictured above receiving the award from Steve Walker of Nor-Dan.
JAMES/JIMMY/JACK RADFORD OR RETFORD- Ex Mugiemoss player If anyone knows of the above playe, who played for Mugiemoss over 90 years ago could they please get in touch. The player went on to play for Barnsley in 1921, and later also played for Scunthorpe Utd. I have received an email from a chap in Barnsley looking for some info anyone can provide. If anyone can help please call 07787 127574, or contact me via email using the contact link on the left.
ANOTHER POOR ONE (21/08/10) With a point needed to secure a quarter final berth in the Grill Cup we stumbled to a single goal loss at The Meadows. We had enough of the game to have taken something from the match, but slack defending gifted Ellon the only goal of the game and we now hope that our goal difference of 19 will be enough to grab the best runner up slot.
WE STILL CANNAE BEAT STONEYWOOD AT HOME! (18/08/10) After breaking one hoodoo on Saturday we couldn't do it again tonight. In my time at Dyce we have won at Polo Park, but never beaten neighbours Stoneywood at home. That would continue as the visitors went away with the points after winning by the odd goal in five. The fact we played an hour with 10 men didn't help.....but neither did our defending. As always the details are on the report page.
THE HILLHEID HOODOO IS NO MORE! (14/08/10) Our terrible record at Hillhead took a turn for the better with a 4-0 Grill Cup win. Gav Booth grabbed another 2 goals to bring his tally to 8 in 4 games, with young Blair Yule netting his first for the club. The other was an outrageous own goal from home keeper Poupard.
IMPRESSIVE START CONTINUES.........AND ANOTHER COLLECTORS ITEM!! (10/08/10) The good early season form continued with a 7-0 Grill Cup win over Parkvale at Ian Mair Park. Neisher grabbed his second hat-trick in as many games, with Gav Booth adding another double. The Ginger One and Jake Strachan completed the scoring. And for the second game in a row a blank sheet came back from the ref. To be honest both teams could have collected a couple of yellows, but a warning was deemed appropriate on each occasion in a game that was never at any point anything close to niggly. Some good common sense shown! We will need to think of another way to boost the end of season night out kitty without any fine money coming in! Full details of the game are on the reports page.
A COLLECTORS ITEM (10/08/10) As an extra to the match report from Saturday, I can unusually report that we received a blank form back from ref Daniel Forbes after the Lossie Utd game.......no bookings and no sendings off!! All involved can take some credit, both teams and the officials. There is always the possibility that when a team is on the wrong end of a scoreline like 9-0 they can resort to kicking lumps out of the opponents, but full marks to Lossie for not doing so at all. Lets see how long the good behaviour lasts!!
WAS THAT OUR BIGGEST EVER WIN? (08/08/10) I can recall 9-1 and 8-1 wins over the years, but never a 9-0. That was the score we opened our Grill Cup campaign with against Lossiemouth Utd at Ian Mair Park yesterday. There were hat-tricks for Jake and Neisher, and Gav Booth took his tally to 4 goals in 2 matches with another double. Connor Scully completed the rout. Full details are on the report page.
Jake cutting in to net his second......the full back gave up the ghost chasing him!
WINNING START IN THE LEAGUE (03/08/10) The season proper saw us get off to a winning start at Stonehaven in the Super League. After a goal-less first half there was plenty action in the second period, and we ended up with a 3-2 victory. Full details are on the report page.
Gav Booth is thwarted in the first half by Hive keeper Mike Smith. Gav would get his own back with a couple of second half goals. Some other snaps courtesy of Ken are on the photo page.
ANOTHER PRE-SEASON WIN (02/08/10) We rounded off pre-season on Saturday with a 2-0 win away to Kirrie Thistle. Again several trialists were given a game and they impressed, though it was two older faces who grabbed the goals. Cheyner opened the scoring in the first half and new dad Neisher blasted in a free kick near the end to make it 3 wins out of 3 in the friendly games. In addition these 3 games have seen us score nine goals and keep 3 clean sheets. Hopefully that form will continue when the season starts!!
VICTORY AT ROSELEA- AT THE 4TH TIME OF ASKING!!! (24/07/10) Pre season continued with a match against the side who have knocked us out of the Scottish Cup in the last 2 seasons- Montrose Roselea. The match was played like a 'proper' game with both side giving 100%, but also played in the right manner with not a bad tackle during the afternoon. The only goal came midway through the second half and was fit to win any game, a 25 yard effort from 16 year old Hungarian trialist Robert Buza. As always the hospitality received was first class, evidenced by the state Mr Chairman was in later in the evening!
WINNING START (17/07/10) Pre season got off to a winning start with a 6-0 win over Stonehaven amateur side AC Mill Inn. Three goals in each half saw us run out comfortable winners, with a few new faces on board to show what they can do. Credit to Mill Inn who played the game in the right spirit until the end, and although well beaten in the end they did create a couple of good opportunities in the game. We have two tough tests coming up against Roselea and Kirrie before the meaningful stuff gets underway.
BUSES TO MONTROSE AND KIRRIEMUIR (13/07/10) We will have buses heading to Montrose (24th) and Kirrie (31st) for the pre-season matches. Anyone who would like to travel down on the team bus should let us know to reserve a seat. Both will leave from Murdo's at 11.30am.
FIXTURES (27/06/10) Apologies for the lateness of the fixtures being added to the site, but the wonderful climes of Portugal have had my full attention recently along with the fantastic Penina Golf Resort and the local Super Bock ale. Back to normal now though and the fixtures up to the end of September have been added to the fixtures page.
CUP DRAWS / START OF THE SEASON (09/06/10) The opening cup draws were made by the management committee and we haven't exactly had the best of luck with home advantage. The Regional cup will see us face Buchanhaven Hearts in the first round away, and in the Inter Regional 1st round we face Lewis Utd away. If we win that one we will face either Bishopmill or Banchory......away!! The draw has also been made for the Grill Cup sections, and we will face Ellon Utd, Hillhead, Lossiemouth Utd and Parkvale. The games against Lossie and Parkvale will be at Ian Mair Park, and we will be away to Hillhead and Ellon. The season will start with league matches on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd August (our fixture will be posted as soon as it's known), with the Grill Cup games kicking off on Saturday the 7th.
SEASON 2010-11 As mentioned further down the page there is no change to the league set up for the new season with 14 teams in the Super League, 14 in the First Division and the balance making up Division 2. One of the teams making up the top flight will be Stonehaven, who finished 3rd in the the First. However runners up Inverness City have not been granted promotion due to them not having their own ground for the full season. This meant a chance of survival for the Super League's second bottom side Buchanhaven Hearts, as the rules state that in circumstances such as these a play off between 2nd bottom and 3rd top will decide who takes Inverness' place in the top league. The play off saw a last minute winner give Stoney a 3-2 win at Heathryfold and they will join First Division champs Fraserburgh Utd in the Super League with Hearts suffering the drop alongside East End.
BILL T IS TATTOO FROM FANTASY ISLAND!!!
Thainer's intro's on Saturday have really started tongues wagging. It was confirmed that once upon a time Keithy Mac was aparently a goalkeeper, and then came the startling revelation that Bill is really Tattoo. Your secret's out now Bill !!!!
2010 DINNER (17/05/10) Friday night saw us hold our 4th fundraising dinner, and a great night was enjoyed. The details and some pictures are on the Sportsman's Dinner link on the left.
LEAGUE RECONSTRUCTION.....OR LACK OF IT (10/05/10) After all the rumours of league reconstruction, it was voted on at yesterday's meeting and the outcome was that the leagues will continue in their current format ie. the Super League and Division 1 will consist of 14 teams with the balance making up Division 2. There may be a new name in the 2nd division as Newmachar Utd have applied to join the junior ranks and their application will be considered in the close season.
ANOTHER SEASON ENDS (09/05/10) Yesterday saw us finish the season with a 1-0 home defeat to FC Stoneywood. It was a game that we really shouldn't have lost but too many times our final ball let us down and when we did get some efforts in we saw a couple cleared off the line, one came back off the post and another off the bar. There was a flurry of cards for both teams (both colours as well!!) but in contrast to Tuesday they were pretty much all merited and the players involved only have themselves to blame.
WHAT WAS A GOOD GAME SPOILT (05/05/10) Last night saw Culter visit again, this time on league duty. It started off a good competitive game being played in the right spirit, but as usual in the second half Mr Veitch took over (thats not sour grapes- as Culter suffered just about as much!). The edited details are on the report page.
Stevie Mur heading clear, with the whistle about to blow for about the 112th time.
NO TROPHIES THIS SEASON! (25/04/10) Our final chance of silverware ended with a bit of a damp squib yesterday when Culter came to Ian Mair Park and went away with a 2-0 victory in the McLeman Cup quarter final. We just didn't get going and pretty much got exactly what we deserved from the match- sod all!! We have an early chance to get some revenge in the forme of league points when the same side visit Dyce again on Tuesday the 4th May (7.15 ko).
Calling all ex- Mugiemoss players!
Our club was formed in 1989 following the amalgamation of Rosslyn Sports and Mugiemoss (one of the oldest junior clubs there was). Former Moss player Dougie Gray has kindly sent the above picture from 1957/58, at a night out following their County Cup win. Dougie is in the middle of the top row, and also in the picture are Les Bird, Mutchie and Billy Williamson (sorry gents, this is before my time so I wont know you!!). If any other former players recognise themselves please feel free to get in touch.
CULTER DOUBLE HEIDER 20/04/10) We have a double header coming up with our next two matches both at home to Culter. On Saturday we meet in the McLeman Cup, before we have the day off the following Saturday. On Tuesday the 4th May the sides meet again in the league.
A BIG IMPROVEMENT (20/04/10) After Saturday's shocker at Denmore we put on a vastly improved show to collect a well earned point coming from behind to secure a 1-1 draw at champs elect Sunnybank. After looking like ending without a goal Bank took an 83rd minute lead from the penalty spot only for us to level within a couple of minutes. As usual the details are on the report page.
IT HAD TO END SOMETIME!! (17/04/10) It has been a week short of 6 months since we last lost a league game, but that run ended in grim fashion at Denmore against Hall Russell Utd. As well as the players injured, Neil Mur was suspended an Luggies and the Ginger One were in London. Unfortunately a certain cloud of ash was preventing flights so we were down to 11 players with Watson and Jordan on the bench (both who have also been carrying injuries). Robbie Wood was drafted in to fill a space on the bench, although after not playing for months it was understandable he was breathing out his backside after his 5 minute appearance at the end. The horrid details are on the report page.
OUCH!!! (13/04/10)
Luggies does his best to knock out the sponsors, as his 20 yard shot flies right at the guys from Fugro just as Gary decides to take a snap. We are not sure which flew further, Gary's camera or Grant's refreshment!
TEAM OF THE MONTH (12/04/10) 4 wins from 4 games was sufficient to see us pick up the team of the month award for March. Fingers crossed we can keep our great unbeaten run going throughout April as well.
CAN YOU SPOT THE RESEMBLENCE??!! Kevin Neish Plug
A BIG WIN (11/04/10) The race for the runners up spot took a turn in our favour yesterday with a hard fought and just about deserved narrow victory over 3rd placed Banks O'Dee. On a fine sunny afternoon the sides served up a competitive encounter and after last weeks debacle there was just one booking. There was a degree of controversy surrounding the winning goal, and full details of what went on are on the report page. Hopefully I will get some pictures from the game posted on the site in the next few days.
MATCH SPONSORS (11/04/10) Our thanks go to the guys from Fugro Rovtech who were the match sponsors for yesterdays game. They got a fine day, a decent game, a great result and a few light refreshments. Hopefully they enjoyed their afternoon!
Gary, Gordon, Grant and Gordon.
Neil Mur receives the man of the match award
Speechless!!! (03/04/10) Now the dust has settled and we have calmed down.......well, no we haven't really calmed down! I really dont know what to say after a game that saw 12 yellow cards, 3 red and Dunk sent from the dugout....and it didn't contain a bad tackle! Some of our lads need to learn to keep their gobs shut, but it was clear to see why they were so frustrated- typified by the absolutely ludicrous red card received by Luggies. If an appeal goes in we can only hope its successful as he was rightly gutted at such a nonsense of a sending off. The edited report has all the details.
Seven on the spin, but by god it was pig ugly!!! (27/03/10) Another win was collected to maintain our 100% record in February and March.......hopefully a team of the month may be the result for our 7th win in a row. It was the 2nd win in 8 days against East End, but in truth it was an awful game. There were very few chances created, and of the odd one or two that came along it must be said that End had the better of them. In saying that we dug in at an awkward venue, on a tight bobbly park with the usual stiff breeze blowing down the park, were down to the bare bones with only 2 fit subs and played the last 20 mins down to 10 men, so whilst it wasn't bonnie it was still a welcome 3 points to keep us clear in 2nd place. Usual report on the reports page and pics in the photo gallery courtesy of Ken.
Watson whilst he was still on the park!
New Away Kit (23/03/10) After a bit of a delay we finally took delivery of the new away kit and our motley crew modelled it on Saturday prior to the East End game.
Cup Progress (21/03/10) A last 8 spot in the McLeman Cup was secured with a 3-1 win against East End at Ian Mair Park yesterday. All the goal came in the opening 45 minutes, with things dropping a level in the 2nd period. Details are as always on the report page. Below, the Ginger One grabs the 3rd goal just on half time. More snaps are on the photo page.
Another (dour) 3 points (13/03/10) 3 more points consolidated 2nd spot in the league after a 2-0 home win against Maud. Once again it was hard fought in a scrappy game, with two goals in the final 5 mins of the first half settling things. Details are on the reports page.
8 WITHOUT DEFEAT (07/03/10) It is now 8 league games without defeat after a dour 2-1 win away at Lewis Utd. With Banks O'Dee losing it keeps us clear in 2nd spot behind runaway leaders Sunnybank. Details are on the reports page, although no pics this week as the stand was too far way from the pitch and the camera wouldn't zoom in enough!!
IAN WHEELER- LONGSIDE FC (01/03/10) I have heard since Saturday that Longside skipper Ian Wheeler had it confirmed he suffered a broken leg in stoppage time on Saturday. There initially didn't appear to be too much of a problem as play carried on after the collision, but it was soon evident that he was in a lot of pain and play was stopped for the stretcher to be called for along with an ambulance. Obviously it's a terrible blow for Longside, and indeed the player himself and we hope he makes a speedy recovery.
3 MORE POINTS ON THE BOARD (01/03/10) We kept ourselves in 2nd spot in the league with a 2-1 home victory on Saturday against Longside. After being comfortable at 2-0, we then did our usual and made it difficult for ourselves but ground out the result. Full details are on the reports page.
WINTRY WEATHER RETURNS (21/02/10) With two wins in a row we were looking to keep the momentum going, but unfortunately Friday's snow left Ian Mair Park under about an inch of the white stuff which resulted in yesterday's McLeman cup tie with East End being postponed.
A VERY WELCOME 3 POINTS (14/02/10) Another 3 points were put on the board yesterday when we visited our friends at Bunkry. After dominating much of the first half we went in at the break level, but Stevie Watson (yes, Watson!!!) grabbed the game's only goal just before the hour to earn an excellent win at a difficult venue. All the details are on the report page.
The unlikely goal hero Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, the old bloke has sliced another clearance into orbit. There are some other snaps on the photo page.
ANOTHER GAME AT LAST!! (07/02/10) Yesterday saw us play just our 2nd game since November and we collected a welcome 3 points against Buchanhaven Hearts. Full details are on the report page. The annual Ian Mair man of the match award for the first home game of the new year was given to Kirky. Answers on a postcard as to how Zeek came up with that one!!!
Luggies leaps like a salmon to head the 3rd goal against Buchanhaven.
THIS WEATHER IS A PAIN IN THE ASS!!! (31/01/10) More snow saw the postponement of yesterday's league match at East End. It resulted in atrip to Pittodrie instead, and by god it was horrific to watch!!!
MORE MADNESS (25/01/10) Saturday eventually saw us get back to action following the lengthy break. We faced Culter with only 13 fit players and bowed out of the Inter Regional Cup 3-1. It ended our fantastic recent record at Crombie Park, but on the day Culter did enough to merit their win and we wish them well at Downfield in the next round. The main talking point of the day was (not for the first time this season!) Mr Veitch issuing multiple red cards, and we finished with just 8 players. One decision showing a lack of common sense saw 2 go when they voiced their verdicts on the incident. There was nothing too malicious in the protests (similar language to that used by pretty much every player at times!!), but the players must learn that sometimes you just cannot say anything as the suspensions will hurt us. The gory details are on the report page, with some snaps below.
Neisher lines one up 1-0!! Lyon nets
Webby prepares to pass the ball into the car park The chase is on
AGAIN!! (15/01/10) Tomorrow's game has been postponed again. By all accounts Crombie Park is still under a blanket of snow and with no chance of it shifting the sensible early decision to call it off was made.
SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!!! (08/01/10) It will come as no suprise to hear that tomorrow's game at Culter in the Inter Regional Cup has been postponed. We will try again next week, although with sub zero temperatures forecast for the next 7-10 days the chances of it being played then must be slim at this stage. Tomorrow with be our 6th Saturday in a row without a game- just nae use for blokes......there's only so much shopping one can handle on a Saturday afternoon! To look on the bright side, Ken pointed out to me this afternoon that we can now say we are unbeaten since October!
FIXTURES (30/12/09) We have fixtures up to and including the 13th Feb, and they are listed on the fixtures page (weather permitting of course!!)
GAME OFF AGAIN (21/12/09) The snow forced the posponement of the Inter Regional Cup game, for the 2nd week in a row. Apparently the pitch at Crombie Park was fine under the snow, but with about 3 inches lying there was no way it could be cleared. We will try again on the 9th January.
FROSTBITE (13/12/09) Yesterday's Inter Regional cup tie at Crombie Park fell foul to the overnight frost. Many felt that although the pitch was firm, it certainly wasn't unplayable but ref Tom Shaw decided otherwise and weather permitting the game will now take place this Saturday. This means the scheduled league match against Maud will now be re-arranged for the new year sometime.
FREE DATE (God this is getting colourful!!!!) (28/11/09) We were due to play Culter on Saturday but their Emirates Scottish Cup tie with Bathgate was postponed and they will now play this week meaning we will have a day off.
SOME MORE CHAOS! (21/11/09) After the madness of earlier league matches at Ian Mair Park (against Ellon and Lewis), there was some more lively stuff in the second half against Hermes. Full details on the report page. Our thanks go to Phil McKenzie for kindly sponsoring the game, after being 'gently persuaded' to do so by Norman the previous week. Phil and guests decided that Neisher was to be the recipient of the man of the match award. As you can see below he was pleased with their decision.
There are some photos from the game itself in the photo gallery.
DUNK BACK (21/11/09) After his recent stay in hospital it was good to see coach Dunk back at today's match against Hermes. He didn't take his seat in the dugout as he is still officially 'chilling' after his visit, but hopefully he'll be back in full swing soon.
POLO PARK POINTS SHARED.........AND MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST PLAY WITH TEN MEN NEXT WEEK (15/11/09) Four goals were shared at a boggy Polo Park in the local derby match with Stoneywood. But the main talking point was that for the 3rd week in a row we finished a man short. Some sendings off have been unjustified and players defended, but Alex Thoirs can have no complaints about his red. That moment of madness with only 7 minutes played left the other 10 guys with a tough task to play the remaining 83 mins a man down on a tiring surface. We really need to start keeping a full team on the pitch!
BOUNCEBACKABILITY!! (09/11/09) After the Scottish Cup horror show we got back winning ways with an excellent 2-1 win at Culter on Saturday. For an hour of the game we were in control, 2-0 up and seemingly cruising. However a penalty for Culter and a red for Neil Mur changed things and it was backs to the wall at times but the defending was outstanding (makes a change this season!). Our last five visits to crombie Park have seen us win 2-1, 4-1, 4-2 and 5-1, with a 1-1 draw in the other. Wish we could play there every week! Thanks as ever to the two Dougie's, Gus, Larry and the rest at Culter for keeping us well refreshed during our visit.
A HALLOWEEN HORROR SHOW (01/11/09) After last season's exciting run, this term's Scottish journey lasted all of one game. Last season we forced a replay against Roselea and kept the score to 2-0 in the reply. This time round though we were absolutely honking and turned in one of our worst performances in some time. Take nothing away from Roselea, they are a very good side and were certainly the better team on the day.....but we didn't half make it easy for them! We would like to thank Roy, Graham and all all the other Roselea committee for their tremendous hospitality and wish them all the best in the next round.
TWO NEW FACES DEBUT AT MAUD......AND AN OLD FACE RETURNS (18/10/09) Yesterday's excellent win at Maud was a very welcome 3 points, and it was done with two new youngsters in the side. With the old bloke on holiday Murray Kinnaird was between the sticks. He looked comfortble throughout and made a couple of excellent stops, having no chance with either of Maud's goals- despite only being 16 years of age! He has joined on loan from Caley Thistle and looks the part. Greg Lamberty also made his first start, having joined from Huntly. Again he did very well and rounded off his afternoon with our 4th goal. Another major boost was the return of Stevie Mur. After the sad events of the summer it was tremendous to see him back in action and to be honest it looked like he had never been away as he strolled through the afternoon. Welcome back min!!
ROSELEA v DYCE (again!!) The draw for round 2 of the Scottish Cup has paired us with Montrose Roselea for the second season running. Last season saw the two sides draw 2-2 in an entertaining match at Ian Mair Park, with Roselea running out worthy 2-0 winners in the replay at Broomfield. It is a tough task for us, with Roselea now playing in the East Superleague, but we will go down there determined to revers last season's outcome. Whatever the result, we look forward to the trip and I'm sure a few refreshments will be had with our friends on the non playing side! Elsewhere, the only other ties I know of so far involving North clubs sees two incredibly tough matches- Bishopmill travel to face Cumnock, with Stonehaven facing an even tougher one with a trip to holders Auchinleck Talbot.
NEW....20th anniversary club badges for sale!!
Dyce Juniors have now reached the ripe old age of 20 years old, and as a result we have the above enamel badges for sale at only £3 each plus postage. Anyone wishing to purchase one should get in touch via the contact link on the left, or alternatively contact me on 07787 127574.
NEW ADDITION TO COACHING STAFF (04/10/09) Following Dazzie's recent departure we have added to the coaching staff to replace him. We are delighted to welcome Duncan Strachan on board and he was in the dugout for the first time yesterday at Longside. Duncan has a wealth of coaching experience, including a stint in the States and I'm sure he'll be a great asset for us.
2 OUT OF 2 (27/09/09) That is the number of trohpy's that we won last season, but will not retain this term. Yesterday at Hillhead saw the Regional Cup slip from our grasp. Like the Longside game a couple of weeks ago, it's a match that we shouldn't have lost (although this time we didn't do a great deal to merit a comfortable win!!). Going into the 89th minute it was 1-1, then defending that was more like nursery stuff than schoolboy stuff saw it start to rain goals and finish 2-4. The report page has the horrible details. Hillhead is certainly our bogey ground as we just never win there....or even get a draw!! The banter is always good though and the hospitality from Dave, Grame, Ian and the rest of the troops was spot on as usual.
SAIR HEIDS (20/09/09) Today's update of the site was later than hoped for, but to be expected the day after a hefty one. Last night saw some of us with some guests attend Hillhead's fundraising dinner- a good night was had but the typing would have been a tad erratic this morning!
McLEMAN CUP DRAW (13/09/09) The draw for the opening two rounds of the McLeman Cup were made at today's regional meeting at Inch, with the following ties the outcome- Ellon Utd v Longside Buchanhaven Hearts v Culter Sunnybank v Banks O'Dee Maud v FC Stoneywood Dyce v East End Lewis Urd v Banchory St Ternan Hall Russell Utd and Hermes received a bye into round two, and the draw for that resulted in- Sunnybank/Banks O'Dee v Maud/FC Stoneywood Hermes v Ellon Utd/Longside Dyce/East End v Buchanhaven Hearts/Culter Hall Russell Utd v Lewis Utd/Banchory St Ternan Tough tie(s) await, but a home draw to open with is good and should we make it through we will be at home again in round two....thats pretty much all anyone can ask for!
SITE UPDATES/LATEST (07/09/09) Apologies for the late update of the site this week. No matter how many times a tried to get the computer to work it was about as successful as our penalty taking on Saturday. Anyhow, the results/report/fixture pages have now been updated. The report details how we lost our grip on the League Cup after a penalty shoot out against Longside in a game we should have won (11-1 was the corner count..........statistic courtesy of Statto Mike). With us getting a bye in the Scottish we now have a league game on the 3rd October- an early chance for revenge as we are away to Longside.
NEW MUGSHOTS (02/09/09) The players link on the left has now been updated with a new squad picture, along with individual shots of the players management and committee. Click on the link to see our motley crew's ugly mugs. As always our thanks go to camera king Ken for taking all the pictures.
NEWS JUST IN!! (01/09/09) We have received a bye in the opening round of the Scottish Junior Cup. Some of our north colleagues have been handed tough ties, notably Culter, who travel to Belshill and New Elgin- they have a home draw against holders Auchinleck Talbot.
NEW SIGNING (30/08/09) We have added to the squad with the signing of attacker Kevin McCrum from Banks O'Dee. He scored our goal in yesterday's 2-1 defeat to Banchory at Ian Mair Park.
POINTS SHARED AT PETERHEAD (23/08/09) Yesterday saw us visit first division champions Buchanhaven Hearts and the teams shared 6 goals and the points. We were really down to the bare bones- we are nowadays allowed to name 7 subs but only had 3 available, including a goalkeeper. Stevie Mur, Cheyner, Cookie, Gogs, Cooper and Thoirs were all mising. 3 times we took the lead and 3 times we lost it within 5 minutes- all from set pieces. In the end it could have gone either way, posession shared, chances shared goals shared, points shared and bookings shared (2 for each side in a game well handled by the whistler). Full details are on the report page.
CAMERA KING IS BACK (20/08/09)
Ken was back in action on Tuesday snapping away. Above is Oliver Hardie blasting in the opener, and there are more on the photo link.
ANOTHER NIGHT OF MAYHEM AT IAN MAIR PARK (18/08/09) We picked up 3 valuable league points on another chaotic evening against Lewis Utd. After a quiet first half the visitors ended up with two of their players, their manager and one of their substitutes all being sent off. Details are on the report page.
PICS (17/08/09) With Ken away at a wedding and David Bailey's camera on the blink it was left to Auton to take some photo's.....done with his phone. there are a couple of them on the photo link on the left.
ANOTHER NEW ADDITION (17/08/09) Following the recent capture of Steve Watson from Sunnybank, we have added to the squad again with the signing of Alex Thoirs from Glentanar. He did well on his debut against Stonehaven on Saturday and netted the 2nd goal.
WE ARE THROUGH!! (16/08/09) We didn't hold out too much hope before yesterday's games, but we are through to the quarter finals of the League Cup. We needed to win at Stonehaven and also hope that Forres Thistle would be victorious at Polo Park against FC Stoneywood. We did our bit by winning 3-0 and then had to wait on the other result. We were delighted when news came in that Forres had won 5-2, and we now face Longside at Ian Mair Park on the the 5th September in the q-final.
SCARY!!!!!
Dee's new signing Martin Christie didn't look this scary last season when playing for Roselea!!
Wax on, wax off.......... ...........the Karate Kid at Spain Park!
NEW SIGNING (11/08/09) We have added to the squad with the signing of midfielder Steve Watson, after a fee was agreed for his transfer from Sunnybank at the weekend.
SPOT THE DIFFERENCE (11/08/09) A couple of snaps below from the Stoneywood game. Compare them to Ken's shot's from the Ellon match......talk about chalk and cheese!!!
Play goes on down the left wing. Has Neisher's Cheyner prepares to clatter an opponent. imaginary friend returned??!!
ACTION FROM THE LEAGUE OPENER (07/08/09)
Ellon's no.4 races away as the Neishster practices Celebrations after goal number 3, Ellon keeper Richard playing Twister. Bowman wonders where it all went wrong.
There's another couple of snaps on the photo gallery link courtesy of camera king Ken.
DILLON (06/08/09) Midfielder Chris Dillon has been made available for transfer at his own request. Anyone interested should contact Andy Milne on 07725 516156. WINNING START IN LEAGUE (06/08/09) It was controversial but 3 points in the bag after last nights game against Ellon. The details are on the reports page.
JORDAN TIES THE KNOT (25/07/09) Todays friendly saw a number of absentees. Most notable was Jordan (and his old man) as he tied the knot with his better half. Ten out of ten for the lass gettin hitched with Jordan, but eleven out of ten for committing to Andy as a father in law!!! In Andy's absence it must be noted that the stand in manager now has a 100% record and the pressure is on the boss to fight off any threat from the young pretender!! Joking aside, we all wish Jordan and his new Mrs all the very best for their future together.
STAND IN MANAGER HAS 100% RECORD! (25/07/09) Pre -season continued with our annual friendly against Tayside friend Kirrie Thistle. After falling a goal down we came back to lead 2-1 at the break thanks to the Ginger One and Neisher. the Ginger One and a screamer from Hardie made it 4-1 before the vistors scored two more to make it 4-3. Sub Dillon scored his second peach in the space of a few days to seal the win late on. It must be said the stand in boss must have got things spot on tactically!!
FRIENDLY RESULT (22/07/09) Our pre-season matches commenced tonight against Highland League side Huntly at Ian Mair Park. After a goal-less first half there were half a dozen in the second period with the visitors scoring twice early doors. Edo Esson pulled one back with a lob from the edge of the box, but Huntly soon re-established their two goal lead with a well worked goal. But our lads dug in well and an absolute screamer of a free kick from Dillon (yes, I said Dillon!!) pulled it back to 3-2, the Edo added his second from the edge of the box to grab a well earned draw. Preparations for the new season continue with another home game this Saturday against Tayside junior outfit Kirrie Thistle. The match will kick off at 2.30.

DO THESE 3 FACE LIFETIME BANS???
The subs bench antics of these 3 towards the end of the season has caused no end of controversy and the jury is out on them. Who do they think they are .....Scotland Internationals??!!!!
COMMITTEE MEETING Norman & Bill at the latest committee meeting
Auton arrived there by bike.
AWARDS 2008-09 We had our annual awards at last weekends bender, and they resulted in the following- PLAYER OF THE YEAR- The old bloke (runner up Neishster) PLAYERS PLAYER- The old bloke again (runner up Jordan) YOUNG PLAYER- Jaffa (runner up- I cannae remember!) CLUBMAN- Dazzie (runner up-.......cannae remember that one either!) POOL- Jaffa (runner up Neishster- imagine being runner up to Jaffa twice!!!!) DARTS- Some bloke who chucked the arrows magnificently all afternoon- it was almost like watching Phil Taylor, only much more athletic. Pure quality, tremendous stuff. Even better was Webbie's face after relinquishing his title (after being crushed in the semi final). Pistol Pete was runner up. The first two awards are testimony to the old bloke's performances this season. He was also named Evening Express junior player of the year as well......not bad for a pensioner!
CUP DRAWS FOR 2009/10 In the Grill League Cup we will face Stoneywood, Stonehaven and Forres Thistle (hope that one is away on a Saturday!!). In the Inter Regional Cup we are away to Stoneywood, and if we win that one we will be away again to Culter. Our attempts to win the Regional Cup for a 3rd time will begin with another away game, this time against Hillhead.
WHO ATE ALL THE PIES???? (11/05/09)
After soup, steak pie, chips and gallons of Bulmers for lunch this geezer couldn't resist the first of his pies (plural) of the afternoon with the game barely half an hour old. I wont embarass him by naming names, but if you scroll down a bit you'll see a very similar shirt in one of the pictures!!
MAN OF THE MATCH/SPONSORS- DYCE v EAST END (11/05/09) Dyce man of the match End's was Stewart Wright, pictured above receiving was Jordan, but as it was his award from sponsor Alex McKenzie from the pee-ing down with rain Pittodrie Bar. he hurried inside before David Bailey got a snap.
The match was sponsored by Nor-Dan and the Pittodrie Bar. Syd from Nor-Dan and Alex from the Pitt Bar receive a bottle of the Dyce Dram from Mr Chairman.
EE Junior Player Of The Year 2008/09 (13/04/09) Our congratulations go to goalkeeper Tony Buckley, who was on Sunday voted the junior player of the year. Maybe a bit early with over half our league games still to go but a welcome award and a well deserved one for the old mannie. For the 2nd season in a row he has been outstanding (Montrose game apart!!!) and is a worthy winner. Well done old boy and dont let the standards slip!
Team of the month (13/04/09) After a 100% winning record in MArch we picked up the team of the month award. The wins included a 4-1 victory at Culter and the winning of the Grill Cup in the final against East End.
Mr Fluo-Feet
At least he can laugh at himself with ..............and as play rages on he asks his imaginary friend for the hideous new footwear. for a verdict on them!
Any captions welcome on the forum.
ALL THAT IS GOOD ABOUT THE JUNIOR GAME..........
A keenly contested game...................and the beer and banter afterwards!! There are a couple of other pictures from the replay with Roselea on the photo gallery link on the left.
PICTURES FROM THE SCOTTISH TIE WITH MONTROSE (19/01/09) Below are a couple of pictures from the game with Roselea- click on the photo gallery link on the left to see a few more-
As always our first home game of the new year saw the Ian Mair man of the match award, an annual tradition in honour of the great Mugiemoss and Dyce man. Cooker received the award from Ian's daughter.
Neisher has just been asked was it or wasn't it a penalty?
Tony looks rather fed up!
Oh dear!!!
Some people dress up on christmas morning in their dodgy new jumpers, some with kids dress up as Santa, but not Jaffa!!
TEAM OF THE MONTH (16/12/08) We have picked up the Superleague team of the month award for November- the 2nd time this season we have taken the accolade. It was very nearly 3 times as we were only just pipped for it in October by Turriff. We won 4 games out of 4 that month including away wins at Buckie, Sunnybank and Downfield, but Turriff's 3 wins from 3 was enough for them as their scalps included Rutherglen Glencairn away and Lochee Utd at home- excellent results against opposition from other regions. Obviously we will not collect it a third time in December as we have yet to play a game!
SOME DAFT HUMOUR
Tony talking out his arse again
Ready to face Dazzie's latest free kick
One for Mrs Neish
Auton's dropped another one in the changing room
